Red Valley Saddle Club Point System

1. You Must be a Member of the Red Valley Saddle Club in order to show. Day memberships are available at the last show only.

2. In order to qualify for year end awards, the exhibitor must show in the given class at least 3 times and receive points at least once.

3. Points are awarded on a Horse/Rider combination for all events with the exception of Leadline where they are based on the rider only.

4. A maximum of 4 shows will be used to calculate Year End Awards. In the event of cancelled shows throughout the season, the final show will be double judged in order to meet a minimum of 3 shows.

  • Event Awards : The best points in each event will be used.
  • High Point Awards : The high point scores for each show will be calculated.
    The best 4 of these totals will be used to determine the high Point Awards.

Novice

1. A Novice is a person of any age, holding a Single or Family membership, riding a horse.

2. He/she has not shown in 40 Open or Breed shows over the past five years, nor had a strong history of Open or Breed showing in previous years, nor received any remuneration for riding, training or judging.

3. A completed novice form must be submitted and approved by the board.

4. Any person being denied Novice status will have 30 days in which to appeal the decision at a board hearing. If still denied he/she may also appeal at the next general meeting. If Novice status is granted it is retroactive to the date of application.

5. Novice riders may participate in all Novice classes, and all other classes of choice for the horse.

6. Novice riders are eligible to accumulate points towards a High Point Novice Award, plus Individual Class Awards. If you win the High Point Novice Award, you are no longer able to participate in any RVSC Novice clases.
